Hyaluronic acid is one of the most important components of the extracellular matrix (non-cellular matter between the cells in the tissue); it fills the space between collagen and elastin fibers. It also makes an important contribution to cell division and migration of skin cells to the skin surface, it promotes fibroblast activity and ensures that essential nutrients are transported from the blood to the living skin cells. The most important feature, however, is that it can attract and retain up to 1000 times its own weight in moisture. This ensures optimal hydration, retention of dermal and epidermal elasticity and more volume in the skin; the effect that fine lines are filled from within. In addition, hyaluronic acid stimulates the skin's own production of glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). They also play a key role in retaining moisture in the skin and stimulate collagen production. A deficiency of GAGs accelerates the aging process because it leads to loss of collagen and elasticity.
Amino acids are the building blocks of literally everything in the human body, including the skin. The body can only produce healthy skin cells, collagen and elastin, if it has sufficient amino acids. The skin renews itself constantly; a continuous supply of amino acids is therefore important. Unfortunately, from the age of 35, the body absorbs fewer and fewer amino acids from food and the body's own production of amino acids also decreases. It is therefore necessary to continue to provide the skin with and supplement it with the right mix of high-quality amino acids; for building and support from within.
Vitamin A, B-complex, C, E and H support and stimulate the skin's own (recovery) processes and thus ensure a strong, healthy-looking skin. This powerful vitamin cocktail also boosts collagen production, improves hydration, complexion and texture of the skin, has an anti-inflammatory effect, protects against damage by free radicals (smoking, sun, stress) and has a skin-lightening effect.
Minerals provide the skin cells with the energy needed to carry out the skin repair and renewal processes and ensure that vitamins can do their job properly. However, there is often a mineral deficiency. In addition, as we get older, the skin becomes increasingly less perfused and the supply of nutrients to the skin cells deteriorates. Result: the skin becomes thinner, drier, gets wrinkles and shows irregular pigmentation. Minerals provide the skin cells with the right nutrients and energy to allow the growth and recovery processes to proceed properly, to restore imbalance in the skin and to provide reinforcement against external aggressors.
Coenzymes provide the skin with energy to produce collagen and elastin, stimulate cell renewal and, due to the high antioxidant content, are able to prevent and repair cell damage and collagen breakdown caused by free radicals. They slow down cell oxidation by bringing more oxygen to the skin cells, allowing them to regenerate better. This helps stabilize the cell membranes, which slows down the aging process.
