Amino acids are the building blocks of literally everything in the human body, including the skin and hair. The body can only produce healthy skin cells, collagen, elastin, strong nails and strong hair roots if it has sufficient amino acids. The skin also contains more amino acids than any other tissue in the body. This makes amino acids just as essential for healthy and firm skin as vitamins and minerals.
The body and skin are constantly renewing themselves; a continuous supply of amino acids is therefore important. Protection against free radicals: some amino acids work as antioxidants, most help the skin to produce its own antioxidants.

Leucine: makes fine lines and wrinkles less deep, accelerates wound healing
Lysine: strengthens the skin surface
Proline: needed for the production of collagen and therefore responsible for firmness and elasticity, makes fine lines and wrinkles less deep, accelerates wound healing and prevents aging of connective tissue.
Serine: keeps the moisture balance in balance, which ensures a fresher, younger, smoother appearance and good skin condition; stabilizes the pH value of the skin, which helps prevent sensitive skin.
